Spring in Alberta,
It got cold here this week and the snow and freezing rain came pouring down. Hard to get ready for golf season with inches of snow on the ground. Anyways, because winter has briefly returned, we have mostly "around the house" stuff for this week's viewing pleasure.

Happy St. Green Day (Irish saint...not rock band) to everyone. Big week this week. At school, Aspen was the "special helper" on St. Patty's day with Superstar Mel B. Aspen hosted a tea party at home. Many outdoor pictures as winter starts to fade and spring begins again. I think I have just jinxed my spring but what the hell. And finally, Superstar Mel B headed off to the mountains with others to celebrate C.May's 4 decades of fun. (This is my weak attempt to hide the fact the C.May is now 40. Happy B-Day girly-o!)

It's been a long week as both girls are sick. They have had a cold all week which is making eberyone in the house more than a little grumpy. Having said that, we still had fun by setting up the tent in the house. We just can't wait for summer camping! Also, Sela does some table lounging.

It's been a pretty laid back week as far as the picture and movies go. We had a bbq, Sela continue to try to walk and Aspen eats too many sweets!!!. This coming week though Superstar Mel B and the Dixon Girls are going on an all girl adventure to the Maritimes. Two weeks of non stop action! The pictures and movies will follow when they are back. Sadly, I will be sitting at home all alone...pining away till my girls return. I'll likely get some extra sleep too.(yay!)

This week has been about two things; Halloween and CRAWLING! Aspen spent the week flying high in anticipation of Halloween. She had a blast and we're got way too much candy (not really). As for Sela, she decided early this week that we aren't reliable enough as Sela transporters. So crawling is the latest thing!

Happy Victoria's Day Weekend,
Traditionally this weekend marks the start of the real spring in Calgary. Some go camping, some plant garden some go golfing. Hi Folks,
A week has gone by and we're starting to get use to the lack of sleep ans the change in routines. Everyone is doing well. Superstar Mels B's mom (Meme) arrived on Thursday night and Aspen has been running her around the house ever since.

Sela is a very good baby and we are getting 3 hours between night feeding. Not too shabby for the first week.

Oh, don't get me wrong, we're sleep deprived but it be a lot worse.
Thanks to everyone who sent well wishes, email and called to congratuate us on baby Sela.

Ok,
On Saturday morning at 9:00AM Superstar Mel B woke up, ate breakfast and informed Aspen and me that she was gonna have the baby...soon.

So...we both had a shower (not together!), dropped off Aspen at the Fox's and took a little drive to the hospital. We arrived at 11:00AM. We had it pretty good till about 1:30PM when Melissa's water broke. Then the party started.

Melissa asking for drugs (sorry too late!), nurses worrying about Mel deliverying in the hallway and finally not being able to find the doctor. So at 2:52PM we got to see our baby girl.

She weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces, 21 inches tall with blue eyes and light sandy brown hair. Everyone is doing great at home and things are starting to get into a routine...or it's complete chaos and we're deluding ourself. Oh for those wondering, Sela is pronounced See-La.

Ok...I think I'm done...for now...

We had some technical problems with the videos last week but they have been corrected. Now on to this week. We are happy to finally be able to tell everyone that Superstar Mel B ... IS PREGNANT! She is 12 weeks along and we are going to our first ultrasound on Wednesday. We're pretty excited about the whole thing. The baby is due at the beginning of February. Yawn, Oh Hi People,
Well, we are very tired after a weekend out camping. Aspen, Superstar Mel B and I had a great time hanging with the FOx's out at their ginormous (gigantic and enormous together) property. 160 acres of nothing but trees, water, deer and coyotes. It was great. Of course, not having a bathroom was inconvenient but, except for the ladies, who doesn't like peeing on a tree! Anyway we're tired and dirty and baked from the weekend so enjoy the festivities and we'll see you next week.

Today is Family day and I'm enjoying the long weekend by painting a couple of rooms and eating whatever I want. Aspen and Superstar Mel B are doing fine and Aspen seemed to like painting the walls until she realized it was work...then the painting stopped.

Our little girl turned 3 today. We celebrated all weekend...we had a party with some of her little friends, we ate lots of cake, we went to the Science Centre and we opened lots of gifts, of course.
She had a blast! Enjoy the pictures and watch as many movies as you can.

We've been eating lasanga and getting fat for the new year. So far, we've been trying to get back into the normal swing of things and get over our Xmas hangover. Aspen has been missing the tree and keeps saying "it's christmas eve!"

We're back in business and have had a couple of good weekends. We went for a walk last weekend at Big Hill Spring Provincal Park and this weekend we were out camping at Red Lodge Provincial Park. We had an awful good time eating bad and getting as dirty as possible.

By the way, see if you can find the picture where Aspen "gives me the finger." You don't get any prize for finding it but it's funny to see.

Potty training started this week and so did golf...maybe I should clarify. Aspen started potty training and I started golfing this week. Wait a minute, did you think I started potty...never mind.
Both of us had our share of success and times where we crapped our pants...maybe I did start potty training this week? Anyways, Mel B unfortunately had to put up with the crap from Aspen and the crap from me whining about my golf game.
After all was said and done, an interesting week was had by everyone.

Kangaroo...that's right playing kangaroo was the fun ride this week. It made daddy realize how freakin' out of shape he really is!!! We also were playing on the swing, building a big girl bed, and getting a package filled with chocolate and other sugar treats to keep a little girl up at night. It's been an action packed week.
